Please note: In spring and autumn, regular maintenance work is carried out. During these times, the cable cars might be out of operation.

Cogwheel train
02.05.-03.05.2024
The cogwheel train mountain section between Grainau and plateau Zugspitze is closed (Zugspitze completely closed). The cogwheel train operates on the valley route between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau according to the timetable.
06.05.-08.05.2024
The entire route of the cogwheel train is closed (Zugspitze completely closed). A rail replacement service will be set up on the valley route between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau. The stops Hausberg, Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn and Hammersbach will not be served.
13.05.-17.05.2024
The entire route of the cogwheel train is closed (Zugspitze completely closed). A rail replacement service will be set up on the valley route between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau, the stops Hausberg and Hammersbach will not be served.
03.06.-07.06.2024
The cogwheel train section between lake Eibsee and plateau Zugspitze is closed. Trains will run between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and lake Eibsee according to the timetable. Cable car Zugspitze and Gletscherbahn cable car are open.
- The Deutschland-Ticket is only valid on the valley route of the cogwheel train from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Grainau. To continue to lake Eibsee or Zugspitze a separate ticket must be purchased.
- The Deutschland-Ticket is not valid in cable cars.
- A discount on the mountain railway ticket is not possible with the Deutschland-Ticket.
- Transport with the Deutschland-Ticket on the cogwheel train and Eibseebus is only possible if the number of guests allows it. At weekends and during holidays, it is likely that demand will exceed the existing capacity of the trains and buses and therefore not all people can be carried.
Please note that guests with a valid mountain railway ticket have priority when traveling with the cogwheel train.
Garmisch-Classic
The cable cars are closed during the maintenance times listed below. Zugspitze is open on all weekends and public holidays during regular operating hours.
