Glacier ski area - Pure natural snow!
Seven months of downhill fun in the Zugspitze ski area
Zugspitze offers a ski area of superlatives: On Germany's only glacier and around it, easy to medium- difficulty slopes on a total of 22 kilometers (15 miles) provide pure skiing and snowboarding fun. Families with children, ambitious skiers and freestyle skiers alike enjoy pure natural snow. Let yourself be charmed by the awesome mountain panorama and experience an unforgettable winter sporting day – an alpine high. The Zugspitze ski area is between 2,000 and 2,720 meters (6,500 and 8,925 feet) above sea level and offers optimum snow conditions seven months a year on the Schneeferner glacier. Skiers and snowboarders of every ability can count on 22 kilometers (15 miles) of freshly groomed slopes daily, plus the truly unique Riffelriss ski run into the valley (when the snow conditions permit). And what's best: Even when the valley is submerged in winter fog, you will find the sun shining bright on Germany's highest ski slopes.
Terrain Park Zugspitze
Freestyle skiers and snowboarders meet in Terrain Park Zugspitze. The Park's opening event is a highlight for all freestyle skiers every year that attracts fans from near and far. After all, the course with a huge variety of kickers and rails enjoys an excellent reputation throughout Europe and, thanks to its different lines, is popular among beginners and professionals alike.
Zugspitze does more than make sports lovers happy - it makes empty stomachs happy, too! You can choose from four restaurants on the roof of Germany. In the restaurant Glaciergarden you will be spoilt with young, light cuisine with an international touch. In Gipfelalm, the rustic summit restaurant, guests can enjoy Bavarian "Schmankerl" specialties among other dishes with the panoramic view across a sea of 400 mountain peaks for dessert included.
