Cogwheel train

"All on board" - enjoy a comfortable ride on the cogwheel train to the Schneeferner glacier directly from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Grainau or Eibsee. There, sheer winter feeling awaits you: Indulge in the sun and snow, be entertained by the alpine hustle and bustle on the slopes and marvel at the acrobatic stunts of the freeskiers and snowboarders in Terrain Park Zugspitze. The SonnAlpin Glacier Restaurant and Glaciergarden invite you to a culinary stop.

Glacier cable car

The Glacier cable car takes you directly to the summit at 2,962 meters (9,718 feet) above sea level in just a few minutes. Take in the unmatched 360° panorama with a view of more than 400 peaks in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. Or let your gaze roam to the alpine foothills far in the distance. Find blissful relaxation in the casual mountain atmosphere in the Gipfelalm rustic summit lodge and the Panorama-Lounge 2962.  On the peak terrace 23 mountain panoramas at nine locations explain the 360˚ views and four “Viscope” telescopes display the names of the mountain summits as you swivel them.

Eibsee cable car

Ride back down in the Eibsee cable car. Within view the whole time: The wild romantic Eibsee lake right at the base of Zugspitze's mighty precipices. From Eibsee, you can enjoy a leisurely ride back to Grainau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the historic cogwheel train.
