Zugspitze has been known as a heavenly ski area or top spot for freestyle skiers since the year one. But how about a fun round of sledding for a change? Sledding fans have a run all to themselves between the Schneefernerkopf and Gletschersee lifts.
And if you don't have your own sled along, you can rent a "Zipfelbob" from the ski rental in the basement of the SonnAlpin Glacier Restaurant for a small fee or buy a snow glider in ShopAlpin. Provided the "Zipfelbob" has a safety strap, you can take it with you on the Schneefernerkopf T-bar that brings you to the top for exhilarating sled runs.
Or if you prefer to get some exercise, you can ascend the slope on foot with your sled in tow and then whiz back down as often as you want - at no charge!
