Nature cinema on the panoramic mountain

The panoramic mountain of Werdenfelser Land invites winter hikers and snowshoers to an unmatched experience of nature at an altitude of 1,780 meters (5,840 feet). On the summit, let yourself be overwhelmed by the 360° panoramic view of the Esterberg, Ammer, Karwendel und Wetterstein mountain ranges with the prominent peaks of Alpspitze, Zugspitze and Waxenstein.

A 20-minute ride in comfortable four-seater cable cars takes you to the top of the popular Wank mountain at 1,780 meters (5,840 feet) above sea level. The Wank cable car also permits families with children and senior citizens to enjoy the unmatched winter panorama that surrounds visitors on Wank with no strenuous ascents. Escape from the foggy-gray atmosphere in the valley and poke through the cloud cover and ascend the sunny summit of the panoramic mountain in the Wankbahn cable car.

Enjoy an unparalleled view down upon Garmisch-Partenkirchen and beyond into the snow-covered Loisach Valley and all the way to the outskirts of Munich. The numerous trails from the mountain station permit leisurely hikes in the cold time of the year as well.

The mountain lodges on Wank also have many treats in store. Hikers can enjoy Bavarian "Schmankerl" specialties along with a view of the snow-capped peaks of Zugspitze and Alpspitze from a lounge on the sun deck of the Sonnenalm or Wank-Haus lodges.
