It doesn't always have to be downhill skiing – thanks to Bayerische Zugspitzbahn and an optimum infrastructure, the Garmisch-Classic area offers families with children perfect conditions for fantastic sledding fun.The Garmisch-Classic area has everything to offer, even if you are not an avid skier. How about a merry sledding party? In Kinderland near the Hausberg mountain station and on one of the specially marked sled runs, you will find a perfect haven for safe and scenic sledding fun.
Look forward to a fantastic sled ride, gaze down at the magic winter panorama of the surrounding mountain chains and treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate in one of the cozy huts and lodges. A day on a sled instead of skis promises stupendous entertainment in the diverse winter program round about Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Prices Sledding:
A splendid round of sledding is ideal for families with children. Accordingly, children accompanied by a parent pay only 3 euros up and down when using the cable cars of Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG.On Wednesdays and Fridays, the Hausberg cable car also runs from 17:00 to 20:00 (5 PM to 8 PM). On these days, the illuminated sled run of 3.9 kilometers (2.4 miles) invites you to an evening of sledding fun from the Bayernhaus lodge down into the valley. All of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn season's passes, as well as the Happy Ski Card and the Twin Ticket, are valid on this evening.
The other sledders can purchase tickets for a special price:
- Adults pay € 14 (Evening Ticket) or € 10,50 for a single trip
- children ages 6 through 15 pay € 8 (Evening Ticket) or € 6,50 for a single trip.
