Glaciergarden
The Glaciergarden restaurant was built within 6 months in the summer of 2007. The challenge was to erect a detached building in high-alpine terrain. Five tons of thermoglass, specially adapted for these conditions, were produced for the project. This, combined with the other building materials of steel, wood and slate, create a most special ambiance in the Glaciergarden restaurant.
One of the restaurant's special features, a roof that can be opened and closed as desired, lets guests dine under the open sky like nowhere else.
Surrounded by the Schneeferner glacier, the Höllentalspitze mountain and Zugspitze, the highest point in Germany and only 400 meters (1312 feet) of altitude away, treat yourself to coffee specialties and variations of cake which are prepared fresh and predominantly made from regional or Fairtrade products. You will also find vegetarian dishes in our “Vegi Corner” in the SonnAlpin Glacier Restaurant.
In the summer, you will be in the company of mountaineers and sun worshippers relaxing in our loungers and, in the winter, of skiers and sledders partaking of fun in the snow.
We look forward to your visit!
