Wank is known as the panoramic mountain for the whole family in Werdenfelser Land. On the summit, let yourself be overwhelmed by the 360° panoramic view of the Esterberg, Ammer, Karwendel und Wetterstein mountain ranges with the prominent peaks of Alpspitze, Zugspitze and Waxenstein.

You reach the popular Wank mountain with an altitude of 1,780 meters (5,840 feet) after a 20-minute ride in comfortable four-seater cable cars. The Wank cable car also permits families with children and senior citizens to enjoy the numerous trails with no strenuous ascents.

The view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen below and out into the Loisach valley all the way to the outskirts of Munich is also unparalleled. You can take a leisurely hike up or down on the myriad of trails from the top and middle station. The high-altitude terrain trail around the summit plateau ensures a gentle mountain experience with wide open views.

Relax on one of the numerous benches and watch the paragliders and hang-gliders prepare for their flights and take off.
