Glacier hikes

Hot ice – summertime hikes round about the glacier

At the same place where alpine skiing dominates in the winter, you can devote your attention to the eternal ice at leisure in the summer – on the easily accessible glacier hike.

You can find the last German glacier in the Zugspitze massif. Come within touching distance of the eternal ice. The Glacier Hiking Trail (only accessible at certain times) leads you across the Zugspitze Glacier and to the viewing platform at the "Windloch" in under 30 minutes.

From there, you have a magnificent view deep down into the Ehrwald basin 2,000 meters (6,562 feet) below your toes and of the surrounding mountains and the Zugspitzplatt ski area.
