Wank is known as the panoramic mountain for the whole family in Werdenfelser Land. On the summit, let yourself be overwhelmed by the 360° panoramic view of the Esterberg, Ammer, Karwendel und Wetterstein mountain ranges with the prominent peaks of Alpspitze, Zugspitze and Waxenstein.

A 20-minute ride in comfortable four-seater cable cars takes you to the top of the popular Wank mountain at 1,780 meters (5,840 feet) above sea level. The Wank cable car also permits families with children and senior citizens to enjoy the numerous trails with no strenuous ascents.

The view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen below and out into the Loisach valley all the way to the outskirts of Munich is also unparalleled. You can take a leisurely hike up or down on the myriad of trails from the top and middle stations. The high-altitude terrain trail around the summit plateau ensures a gentle mountain experience with wide open views.

The mountain lodges on Wank also have many treats in store. Hikers can enjoy Bavarian "Schmankerl" specialties along with the view of the mountain worlds round about Zugspitze from a lounge on the sun deck of the Sonnenalm or Wank-Haus lodges.
