Experience a bird's-eye view of the panoramic mountain

The panoramic mountain of Werdenfelser Land offers paragliders the whole gamut: Comfortable ascents with the Wank cable car, optimum take-off points and a grandiose panorama over Germany's highest peaks.

After an ascent of only 20 minutes in the Wank cable car, paragliders reach the take-off site in the immediate vicinity of the Sonnenalm and Wank-Haus lodges. An optimum slope and ideal terrain also make this take-off site an ideal place for less experienced paragliders to start their panoramic tours.

The flight from the top of the Wank at 1,780 meters (5,840 feet) above sea level offers an unobstructed and fascinating view of the mountain world round Zugspitze, out into the wide Loisach valley and a panoramic view into the alpine foothills all the way to the outskirts of Munich.

Wank's extraordinary thermals make it especially popular among paragliders. They treat paragliders to exceptionally long and enjoyable flights when the upwinds are right.
